Having turned age 62, and beginning my 32nd year of ministry in the year 2009, God has shown me the tremendous need that exists to reach out beyond our local ministry to help other Christians battle depression worldwide.
This BLOG represents one of our steps in this effort to reach out globally, to help others learn how to successfully battle and conquer depression in their lives.
When considering the statistics compiled by sources like Pastor to Pastor, Global Pastors Network and others, depression is pandemic within the Christian community!
These sources report:
70% of pastors constantly fight depression.
80% of pastors and 84% of pastor’s wives are discouraged in their respective roles.
50% of pastors would leave the ministry today if they could support themselves some other way.
70% of pastors do not have a close friend, confidant, or mentor.
As a result, there is a mass exodus from ministry by pastors and other Christian leaders who are discouraged, defeated, and depressed.
And I understand, firsthand, the devastating consequences of discouragement and depression. Having battled depression in my own life, I know the debilitating effect depression can have on a person’s life, family, and ministry. Through my own battles, failures and victories, all understood in accord with 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, God has used those events in my life to allow me the privilege to help many, many others; including pastors, missionaries, and others serving in all types of ministerial roles and leadership.
And what others need to know is that there is an absolute scriptural pathway to conquering depression. And it works. And it works every time. God’s way is PERFECT. (Psalm 18:30) No misfires with the Lord. His way is 100% foolproof!
As believers, we can ABSOLUTELY CONQUER DEPRESSION in our lives! And what is also true is that WE CAN HELP YOU! For Christ’s sake, for your family’s sake, for your ministry’s sake, LET US.
